I have never been one whom will throw a Resolution out into the Universe with hopes that change will just drop down from the heavens. A resolution is merely a thought that if you say it, it will happen. I hate to steal the thunder from your cloud but you actually have to act in order make it come to fruition. Being a personal trainer taught me a lot about the inner core and how dysfunctional resolutions tend to be without first applying your heart and soul into changing. What is also funny is the fact that most people wait until January 1st to make a change in their lives. Most of us make these promises but only a very small percentage of us actually follow through with them. Some may not like this but I really feel that these tips will help you reach your mark. Though I may not by a Psychobabo Expert but a little common sense mixed with some of my own past failures in would at least help you to achieve a great year and make your resolution or resolutions attainable and within reach. You have to start with small steps.
Tips to help you make your RESOLUTION work for you.
1. If you want to lose weight simply clean out your refrigerator of all of the items that may have gotten you there in the first place and avoid items that you know are not going to help you win.
2.Tell others openly so that you put you on the hook with a verbal commitment to change. Don't be scared of what others may think because at the end of the day it simply should not matter.
3.Focus on personal and spiritual growth and if you are not spiritual then work on becoming in touch with your inner being.
4.Do not run out and join a gym if you do not have a plan and wast money on a trainer if you are not going to see them at least 3 times a week. Get online and find some programs that will help you build lean muscle and burn a few calories.
5. Cleaning your house or apartment will give you a feeling of cleanliness and will invite good thoughts into your life.
6.Stay positive about your resolution and shed those whom try to hate your personal growth. They will not buy into your change because maybe they are afraid to commit themselves.
7.Avoid negative or painful thoughts by meditating and relaxing or whatever it takes to keep you focused on goals that you have set for yourself.
8.Start a resolution support group with others through networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, etc.. There are others looking to band together with people whom may have like interest but may not be in the same local.
9.Spend time at your local bookstore finding new topics of interest. I would say online but getting out and meeting new people may do you some good.
10.Its okay to hit speed bumps while you resolve but do not accept failure as an alternative to your resolution.
Make time for you even if it means that others may get less of your time but remember to put you first so that others can share you later. We are all experiencing difficulties in some form but we all have options to make our lives better. It may seem as if change is elusive but I can tell you one thing, we are already on tomorrow as soon as today begins so invite change and pray for a better tomorrow.
